Elastic Potential Energy Calculator
Calculating…
How Elastic Potential Energy Works
Elastic potential energy is the energy stored in elastic materials as the result of their stretching or compressing. The formula for calculating elastic potential energy is:
U = ½ × k × Δx²
Where:
- U = Elastic Potential Energy
- k = Spring Constant (stiffness of the spring)
- Δx = Displacement from equilibrium position
This calculator allows you to solve for any one of these variables when you know the other two.
